Decimated

At the start of the Future CUp, when Ponting said "Twenty20 is history, India are getting carried away", every Indian cricket fan must have been incensed, and it was a perfect stage for the Indians to prove that actions speak louder than words.

But unfortunately, it was the Aussies who proved a thing or two to the Indians, that one should not rest on their laurels, one should promote teamwork and not individualism, and one should also know to field, not just bat and bowl.

The last match at Kochi had raised some hopes of an Indian revival, but today's annihilation showed that India are back to where they began.

Tryst with Destiny

Sorry for misleading, but I have changed my mind and I m gonna write on the one who had his 138th birth anniversary on tuesday. The political one will have to wait.

No doubt, Gandhiji was one of the pillars in India's freedom struggle, and many people question whether we would have got freedom if Gandhiji didnt exist. To an extent, I agree with them.

But for a man who wielded so much political power, he was the only person the British were truly afraid of, and who deserved a better end than he got, he stuck to his principles too much. I am not saying that he should have resorted to non-violence, but when the British were executing Bhagat Singh why didnt he press for his release? Supporters will say that he did take up the topic during the signing of the Irwin Pact, but I say that he didnt try hard enough.

Many would agree and many more would not, but I feel that had Bhagat Singh survived, we would have achieved freedom in 1937 itself, not after 10 long waiting years...

And why do we celebrate Martyrs' Day on 31st Jan? Why not on 23rd March? Doesnt India's youngest revolutionary, who gave up his life for his country, deserve to be honored? Or just because his methods differed from The Great One, he was neglected? On 2nd October and 31st Jan you see many functions to honor Gandhiji, and there's a public holiday on 2nd Oct as well. But on 28th Sep and 23rd March, there's hardly any activity, nobody even knows the significance of these days, and my concern is that the Legend of Bhagat Singh may be lost in the future generations.

All hail the Legend!!! Au revoir...

Its my Life... not anymore!!!

Hi there people. Welcome to my first blog, the first of many more to come. I dunno what to write about, so let me start with life.

I always thought life was a personal thing to live, until I realised it is meant to be shared. I am not talking about sharing solid objects - that is easy to do - its more about sharing the abstract aspects of life. Life is short, love is shorter(pun intended ;) ), so before it comes to an end I want to share as much as possible, my thoughts with you.

Thats all for now, I will try to post every week... Adios!!!
